Welcome to our Come Walk With Us web site.  This site was created using the Wix platform, and is operated by Sonya Richmond and Sean Morton.  It was created to provide information about our hike across Canada on the Great Trail, to collect donations for our hike and our charity of choice, Bird Studies Canada, and to sell limited products to generate income for our hike.  This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share data collected from visitors to our web site.

• Our website and blog supports comments and message boards.  Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information for both us and other users to use and share.  Please be considerate and respectful of others while using the community to share your opinions. We reserve the right, but do not have the obligation, to review and monitor such posting or any other content on our web site and blog, and to remove postings or content that may be viewed as inappropriate or offensive to others.

For instance, if you contact us by email, we will use the information you provide to answer your question or resolve your problem.If you make a donation we will do our best to send a thank you reply to the supplied email, and if you make an order in our store, we will use your shipping information to mail your item. For the purposes of the GDPR, we may use your information in the above ways as this is necessary for us to fulfill our obligations under our contract with you or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract.

• We may use the automatically collected information about the location of our visitors, the number of hits to each page, and the timing of visits to our website to assess the geographical composition, interests, and behaviour of web site visitors.This general kind of information may be included in reports to our collaborators and/or sponsors to help us estimate how many readers our message reaches.

• Our web site also uses the third-party web analytics service Visitor Analytics.This app uses cookies to collect data about visitors' device type and screen size, approximate location, browser, OS, IPs, page visits, bounce rate, conversions and popular content on the website. All this data is pseudonymized and Visitor Analytics will never use the collected data to identify individual users or to match it with additional information on an individual user. Each visitor has control over the cookies placement.

• Our website also uses the GetFunding Wix App, which uses the PayPal gateway to collect secure information. For further information on the type of information collected by PayPal please see their Privacy Policy.

Our web site is not designed for unsupervised use by individuals under the age of 13 (or 16 in Europe).
